Liz Tracy (better known around these parts as the person behind Miami, Bro) has a nice write up on NBCMiami about a book highlighting Miami street art, previously seen here.
Today I added BHO onto my ever growing Flickr contacts’ list. I was tempted to mark him both as friend and family, but in the name of political cynicism, I decided against it. I hope he adds me back.
I’ve been wanting to post this for a minute, and I suppose it’s always better late than never, and what better time to enjoy a photo essay on the next president of the United States of America than while we count down to this momentous occasion: LINK.
I know I’m a little late with this but Jen Stark was recently featured on WLRN’s Art Street Miami. If you haven’t heard of her yet, this 6:33 minute video should give you an idea of what this up-and-coming Miami artist is about.
Jen Stark meets up with Lydia Martin and spills the beans on how this paper cutting business came to existence. (On the mythical lands of southern France.)
This past Saturday, I spent about 6 or so hours at Bayfront on my feets, getting my eardrums blasted into early retirement, and I liked it. It was a free show (as far as I know) and they weren’t holding back on the liquor, as long as you asked for something with Bacardi in it and paid at least $7. (eh…)
Anyhoo, there was a long list of performers, as the show ran from 4p.m. till about midnight, which included a solid performance by local DJ Irie, who managed to throw a little Vallenato seamlessly into a mix of hiphop and dance and what not. Also, performing that night were Dave Navarro along with DJ Skribble and ?uestlove and J-Mello and a slew of other people, mostly together, but not entirely. Cedric Gervais and then Deep Dish kept it going until Groove Armada capped the night off with a good showing.
